Ali Farokhmanesh’s first recruiting class as the head coach of the Colorado State men’s basketball team is quickly coming together.
Two more prep standouts recently committed to CSU, bringing to three the total number of commits for the Rams’ 2026 recruiting class.
On Sunday, Gregory “Pops” Dunson, a 6-foot guard from Alexander High School in Douglasville, Ga., announced his commitment to Farokhmanesh and the Rams on X.
A three-star recruit according to 247Sports, Dunson averaged 18 points, 4.9 assists, 3.2 rebounds and a steal per game as a junior last season. In the Georgia state tournament, those numbers rose to 31.3 points and six assists per game.
Dunson also had reported offers from Auburn, Texas State, Tulane, Saint Louis, Tulsa, San Francisco and Duquesne, among others.
On Tuesday, the Rams got their second commitment in three days from Jaden Ghoreishi, a 6-foot-9 wing from Mt. Spokane High School in Spokane, Wash.
Another three-star recruit, Ghoreishi had a 24-point, 18-rebound game in the Washington state playoffs last season. He told 247Sports regarding CSU, “I feel wanted, I fit in the offense very well and I love what they have done with the guys in my position and where they helped them get.”
Among other offers, he was recruited by Saint Mary’s, Weber State, Marshall and James Madison. He had taken a visit to Washington State before committing to CSU.
The pair join Regis Jesuit’s Eric Fielder, another three-star recruit who committed to the Rams in late July. Fielder, listed at 6-foot-8 on MaxPreps, is considered Colorado’s No. 2 high school recruit in the 2026 class according to 247Sports.
He earned Class 6A first-team all-state honors after averaging 24 points and 8 rebounds, while making 51 3-pointers for the Raiders, who lost in the Great Eight last spring.
