As expected, Jameson Taillon (groin) is back tonight to start against the Atlanta Braves. His injury was considered very minor, and a minimum IL stint was always the hope. Nice to see it actually coming to pass. Hopefully Taillon looks as good going forward as he did in the two starts between his recent IL trips.
Taillon will take the spot of Ethan Roberts, who was just brought up, but now shuttles right back down. Such is the role. Feel a bit for him, but grateful the Cubs have him just in case.

It’s a tricky thing to manage, because you have to think about the guys’ schedules and how many pitches, but also you have to manage to win the games.
The Athletic has reported that the expectation is that Assad will be in the bullpen, by the way. No reason to doubt that now.
