    Who Won?

    Mayor’s Race

    Mayor Vi Lyles has won with more than 70 percent of the vote, despite growing criticism over her leadership following the fatal stabbing on Charlotte's light rail on August 22. Many lawmakers, including Rep. Ralph Norman, have called for Lyles to resign.

    She's seeking a fifth term and now faces Republicans Terrie Donovan and Libertarian Rob Yates in the November general election.

    City Council At-Large

    Several Democratic candidates were hoping to secure one of four spots on the November ballot. In the end, Dimple Ajmera, LaWana Mayfield, James (Smuggie) Mitchell, Jr. and Victoria Watlington claimed the spots.

District 6 (South Charlotte, SouthPark): Krista Bokhari will face Democrat Kimberly Owens in what’s expected to be a close November race.
