More recently, at the 2025 NCSA Spring Championships (SCY) in March, Pareja was a finalist in the 50 back (22.35) and 100 back (49.43), placing 9th and 21st, respectively. He also posted a lifetime best in the 200 fly (1:53.01).
In December, Pareja posted a personal best in the 200 back at the 2024 Speedo Winter Junior Championships – West (SCY), placing 20th with a 1:45.99 and qualifying for Junior Nationals.
Pareja competed at the 2024 IL FMC Speedo Grand Challenge (SCY) the month prior, making finals in five events. With another year left to drop time, Pareja has the potential to strengthen the team’s backstroke group upon his arrival. Last season, the team’s fastest 100 back time (46.74) belonged to senior Brady Samuels, while the top 200 back time (1:42.38) came from freshman Blake Rowe, who was the runner-up in that event at the 2024 U.S. Open.
