ROCHESTER, N.Y. — An adult is recovering from burns after a house fire on Wednesday on Elwood Drive, in a neighborhood off Dewey Avenue on the city’s northwest side.
News10NBC’s photojournalist saw crews battling the fire around 5:30 p.m. The Rochester Fire Department says the Red Cross is helping the adult and three children displaced in the fire, since the home was deemed unlivable.
RFD says crews rescued three dogs from the home, which are under the care of the family. The person with the upper-body burns was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital. That person made it out before firefighters arrived.
There’s no word on the cause of the fire.
