Music Icon, 89, Says He ‘Always Apologized for Being Unfaithful

Engelbert Humperdinck is reflecting on the loss of his wife, Patricia, to COVID in 2021.

The legendary crooner, 89, chronicled a day in his life for The Times and recalled asking for his wife's forgiveness after being unfaithful.

    "She was my soulmate, an amazing lady who put up with a lot of things I’m not proud of. I always apologized for not being faithful," said Humperdinck, who noted that "the dinner table can feel pretty lonely" without her these days. "She forgave me and we stayed together. It brought us closer in fact. Will I fall in love again? Can’t see it happening."

    Humperdinck added that while Patricia's death made him "angry," he "came around in the end. God had his reasons."

    "My Harley was on my mind. It’s been too long since I was out on the open road I need to get a gadget to strap my phone to my chest so you can come along with me. I used to love riding with my friends along PCH. Wonderful memories that are so strong that i can appreciate feel the ocean breeze and smell the salty airr," he shared in a stream of consciousness post without much punctuation.
