There are few TV personalities with a more loyal following than Judy Sheindlin, better known as Judge Judy. Known for her no-nonsense approach to the law (and unmistakable sense of humor), fans have been tuning in to see Sheindlin make sure that justice is served for decades...so it's no surprise that her recent appearance on Amy Poehler's podcast Good Hang With Amy Poehler was a huge hit.
In a clip shared on Instagram from the wide-ranging interview, Sheindlin, 82, talked about her "next adventure," sharing a somewhat surprising idea.
"So if I were to say to you, Amy, what I want to do for my next adventure, that I would like you to play with me at doing, I want to steal Baby Judge Judy back from AI,” Sheindlin said, referring to the YouTube show featuring an AI-generated baby version of Sheindlin.

“I want to take Baby Judge Judy, and I haven’t shut them down,” she went on. “I want to get more people involved with this character...speaking through Baby Judge Judy would be a whole lot of fun...but you need the right writer."
“Judy’s still pitching me on this,” Poehler laughed, calling it a “genius idea.”
Fans in the comments couldn't get over the clip, with one raving, "I couldn't love Judge Judy more!!! Love her hat!! Classy lady!! Go Judy!!"
"This friendship is a delight. I want a talk show with the two of you as hosts. This is the duo I never knew I needed," added a second commenter, while a third declared, "Iconic women being iconic women!"
Is Judge Judy an actual judge?
On her shows, Sheindlin serves as an arbitrator, not a judge, but she is a retired justice, and her decisions are still legally binding, as People reported.
Long before she became a TV personality, Sheindlin began her legal career in 1972 prosecuting child abuse, juvenile crime and domestic violence cases as an assistant prosecutor in Manhattan’s family court.
In 1982, Mayor Ed Koch appointed her to become a family court judge; four years later, she was promoted to supervising judge in Manhattan’s family court.
After an L.A. Times profile on Sheindlin in 1993 led to a 60 Minutes segment about her reputation as a tough judge, CBS tapped her for Judge Judy. Sheindlin retired from family court at that point.
