Derek Hough and Hayley Erbert are expecting their first child together, two years after they tied the knot in a dreamy ceremony in a redwood forest in Monterey County, California.
The Dancing With the Stars judge and his wife teased their baby's gender on social media on Sept. 1 with a fun "Old Wives Tales" trend. In an Instagram video, Erbert answered questions about her pregnancy that some believe can predict a baby's gender in womb.
For example, Erbert said that she hasn't been experiencing morning sickness, is reaching for savory snacks, and doesn't have acne — all things that point to a baby boy. As far as baby girl "symptoms," Erbert says she's put on weight — but that's about it.

Fans quickly took to the comments section of the post to guess the gender, with the vast majority of Instagram users guessing that Hough and Erbert will be welcoming a baby boy in 2026.
"The heart rate one is pretty accurate so I think BOY," one person wrote.
"Boy! [You're] carrying too low mama. as long as is healthy nothing matters. Congrats," someone else said.
Days earlier, Erbert did a Q&A on her Instagram Stories and was asked if she and Hough found out their baby's gender. She explained that she's too much of a Type A kind of person to not find out, so she and Hough do know, though they haven't shared (and it's unclear if they will).
The couple announced their big baby news on Instagram in July.
"We can’t believe the biggest thing to happen to us could be so small," Erbert captioned a post at the time.
