Chicago police issued a community warning after at several strong-arm robberies took place across in the popular and busy Grant Park area in broad daylight, with suspects snatching chains and jewelry.
According to the alert, eight similar robberies occurred at locations in and around the park, as well as in New Eastside and the Loop.
In each of the incidents, a suspect targets a lone, unsuspecting victim on park property and uses physical force to take something from the victim.
According to police, a gold chain or necklace was taken in each occurrence.

Wacker Dr. on August 22, 2025 at 8:43 a.m. (Chicago Loop) 0-100 block of E. Wacker Dr. on August 22, 2025 at 8:48 a.m. (Chicago Loop) 200 block of E. Roosevelt Dr. on August 22, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. (Grant Park) 100-200 block of E.
