Betfair – Harvey Elliott to sign before 2nd September
Betfair odds
RB Leipzig 8/13 Aston Villa 7/1 West Ham 11/1 Tottenham 11/1 Newcastle 11/1 Crystal Palace 12/1 Fulham 12/1 Borussia Dortmund 14/1 Bayer Leverkusen 14/1 Nottingham Forest 14/1 Napoli 14/1 AC Milan 14/1 Brighton 18/1 Bournemouth 20/1 Fiorentina 22/1 Brentford 25/1 Wolves 33/1 Roma 33/1 Leeds 33/1The 20-year-old has barely featured in the Premier League this season – clocking just 60 seconds across Liverpool’s opening three matches – and now faces even stiffer competition for game time.
Arne Slot’s side are on the verge of smashing the British transfer record, with a £125million deal agreed for Newcastle striker Alexander Isak.
And while Elliott is still highly rated at Anfield – with the club slapping a £50m valuation on him and under no pressure to sell – the attacking midfielder has previously hinted that he may need to look elsewhere for regular minutes.
Speaking during Liverpool’s summer tour in Hong Kong, Elliott said: “If I had it my way, I would be [at Liverpool] for the rest of my career – it’s as simple as that.
“I love everything about the club, but at the same time I kind of need to be selfish and see what’s best for me.
“I have big ambitions. I want to get in the [England] World Cup squad. I want to keep being successful as a player. We have many new players who have come in, so whether it blocks the path for me, I’m not sure.”
With the 2026 World Cup looming, the pressure is on for Elliott to secure consistent first-team action – and a loan or permanent move could be on the cards before the window slams shut.
So, where could he end up?
According to Betfair, Bundesliga side RB Leipzig are leading the race at 8/13.
Aston Villa are next in line at 7/1, and that price could shorten quickly following reports from The Times that Unai Emery’s side are “monitoring” Elliott’s situation – though any move may depend on offloading Emi Buendia first.
West Ham, Spurs and Newcastle are all priced at 11/1, while Crystal Palace and Fulham aren’t far behind at 12/1.
