Since first gaining fame as part of the faction The Shield back in 2012, Roman Reigns (born Leati Joseph Anoaʻi) has been one of the biggest names to come out of the WWE, known for his captivating stage presence, considerable strength and ability to draw a passionate reaction—both positive and negative—from crowds. While Reigns recently announced his retirement to come, that won't stop him from competing in WWE events like Clash in Paris in the meantime.
And while the athlete is already well-known among the global wrestling community—what with his current, record-breaking WWE Universal Championship reign—Reigns recently got a separate spotlight as an actor, appearing in the Eddie Murphy-led heist comedy The Pickup, which was released by Amazon Studios on Prime Video on Wednesday, Aug. 6. In the new flick—which also stars Keke Palmer, Pete Davidson and Eva Longoria—Reigns plays a champion MMA fighter set for a title fight in Las Vegas; he’s snapped in a photo shoot with the “pickup” money that Palmer’s character Zoe wants to steal.

And now that Roman Reigns is crossing over into mainstream movies, fan interest will no doubt be rising about the pro wrestler, especially where his personal life is concerned. Here’s everything we know about his family, including that supposed twin.
Okay, first thing’s first, let’s talk about that twin. Unlike other celebrities like Rami Malek, Scarlett Johansson and Ashton Kutcher, Roman Reigns does not have a twin. He does have several siblings, though: sisters Vanessa, Mytriza and Summer, and one older brother Matthew, all of whom grew up with him in Pensacola, Florida.
Roman comes from a long line of wrestlers—both his father Sika and brother Matthew were professional wrestlers. His brother, who died of congestive heart failure in 2017 at the age of 47, performed under the stage name Rosey Reigns and was a WWE superstar in his own right in the 2000s; he was part of the tag team 3-Minute Warning with their cousin Jamal. The Reigns are also related to arguably the most famous wrestler of all time: Dwyane “The Rock” Johnson, who is a cousin.
Following Rosey’s death, his younger brother told WWE: “My only hope now is that I can continue to represent my family and represent my brother and continue to push our legacy. He was my number one fan. He never missed a match, he never missed anything I did in the ring, he always had great advice for me and always reached out to talk…Any chance I get to go in that ring I’m representing him.”

Who is Roman Reigns married to?
Along with the famed wrestling family he was born into, Roman Reigns has created quite the sweet clan for himself, too. The 40-year-old wrestling star has been married to wife Galina Becker (aged 38) since 2014; the couple married in a traditional Samoan ceremony on Disney’s Castaway Cay, a private island in the Bahamas.
They first met in 2007 while attending college at the Georgia Institute of Technology. Both were studying business management; outside of the classroom, Roman was playing football, while the equally athletic Becker was on the track and field team. "She's not only my wife, she's my best friend," Reigns cutely told Georgia Tech AlumniMagazine in 2018.
During a 2016 interview with WWE Unfiltered, Reigns reminisced about the early days of the couple’s relationship, which grew naturally out of a close friendship: "We were just having fun. We were kind of glued to each other … just not having a care in the world or worrying about anyone but us." As their family expanded with numerous kiddos (more on them in a minute!), of course, that reality changed quickly for the couple.

Speaking of kids, Roman Reigns and wife Galina Becker have quite the full house with five children: daughter Joelle "JoJo" Anoa’i, born in December 2007; a first set of twin boys (yes, we said first!) birthed in November 2016; and yet another pair of twin boys, who joined the Anoaʻifamily in 2020.
Despite rumors swirling this summer that he and Becker welcomed a sixth child, the athlete shut that speculation down: “Five and done,” Reigns joked on TikTok in a July 2025 video, per Sports Illustrated. “They’re trying to say I’m trying to catch up to Jacob [Fatu, who has seven kids]. Five and done. I’ve done my job. I’ve procreated.”
As for raising such a hefty brood, the WWE star told theTODAY show in July 2022: “It’s loud. It’s hectic. When you have that many kids, you really have to have a schedule and just try to get everything in line…You have to try to delegate and give them all as much attention as possible.”
Why is Roman Reigns retiring from wrestling?
The reign will soon be over: In an April 2025 interview with Vanity Fair, the famous rumbler announced that, after his current WWE contract expires after WrestleMania 2026, he will be retiring from professional wrestling. “After I finish the contract that I’m in, we probably got another year or two max,” Reigns said. “Then it’s time to take on a less physical form of entertainment.”
That “less physical” venture will, seemingly, be acting, as seen in his recent appearance in The Pickup. “He probably shows as much charisma that I’ve ever seen from a celebrity or nonactor,” Tim Story, who directed The Pickup, told Vanity Fair “I think his future in front of the camera will be ridiculous.”
And there’s clearly precedent for a WWE-to-A list trajectory, even within his own family, with cousin Dwyane “The Rock” Johnson parlaying his own ringside charisma and presence into a stratospherically successful acting career that regularly snags him $20 million salaries per movie.
However, Reigns wants to be choosy with his roles: “I almost want to model it after Tarantino, where we’re not just doing anything and everything,” he told the outlet. “I want to really plot out: I want this one, I want that one.”
How long was Roman Reigns champion?
When Reigns does eventually say goodbye to the WWE, he’ll be leaving behind one hell of a legacy: His 1,316-day reign as the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion, the most historic championship in WWE, is the fourth longest world title reign in the franchise’s history. That stretch also makes him the first 1,000 day world champion in WWE in 35 years. His success has made Reigns one of the biggest box-office draws in the ring, with the wrestler raking in an estimated net worth of $14 million.
