Daraa, SANA-The “Abshiri Houran” event kicked off at the ancient Bosra al-Sham amphitheater in eastern Daraa Countryside, in the presence of several ministers and social, religious, and cultural figures.
The event included artistic and poetic segments that revive Houran’s heritage and express values of honor and generosity. Hourani chants reflecting unity and national cohesion among the region’s people were performed by the Daraa Governorate Folk Arts Troupe.
In a statement to SANA, Presidential Advisor Ahmad Zaidan said: “Houran will remain the cradle of the revolution, and the debt to Houran will remain upon Syrians until Judgment Day, for they were the ones who sparked the blessed revolution. Just as we stood together to defeat the tyrants and their allies, we will stand together in rebuilding.”
Zaidan pointed out that the “Abshiri Houran” campaign marks the beginning and heralds of the struggle for reconstruction. Just as the people of Houran played a distinguished role in the blessed revolution, today they have a role in preserving and continuing the revolution until complete victory, for the sake of rebuilding Syria to be more beautiful than ever.
For his part, Minister of Information Hamza al-Mustafa said: “From Hauran came good news for all the Syrian people with the March 18 uprising for dignity, which spread throughout Syria and was crowned with victory. Today, from Hauran itself, we say: Rejoice, land of pride and dignity.”
Minister al-Mustafa added that Daraa Governorate will witness a broad reconstruction phase led by its sons, who have always been pioneers in defending the homeland. He affirmed that reconstruction will not be limited to infrastructure restoration but will reflect pride, dignity, and national belonging, with the participation of the governorate’s residents alongside state institutions.
The Minister of Information stated that the government will focus on developmental and service projects that contribute to rebuilding the governorate and improving its economic and social conditions, enabling it to regain its natural status not only within Syria but across the entire region.
Minister of Tourism Mazen al-Salhani said: “We are keen to attend the ‘Abshiri Houran’ campaign to show the world that Houran is a never-ending revolution. The Ministry of Tourism will establish new tourist routes in Bosra al-Sham, restore and revive its hotel, and renovate other areas in Daraa to provide job opportunities and achievements for the people of the governorate.”
Minister of Culture Mohammad Yassin al-Saleh said that the ministry’s participation in the campaign is part of a national cultural and social path aimed at building a comprehensive developmental project. It begins with culture and does not stop at boundaries but connects with civil peace and societal recovery.
“Abshiri Houran” is a voluntary community service campaign aiming to raise around $33 million to support developmental projects in the governorate.MHD Ibrahim
