Ruben Amorim’s face said it all as Matheus Cunha departed Manchester United’s clash early with an injury.
Cunha, who arrived from Wolves in June for £62.5million, went down midway through the first half against Burnley.
Unfortunately for the Red Devils, their big money man was unable to continue and he required assistance off the field.
A number of his United teammates went over to console their teammate as he understandably cut a dejected figure.
As Cunha walked straight back up the tunnel at Old Trafford, the camera panned to United boss Amorim.
The manager’s reaction was one of devastation as he buried his head in his hand.
Joshua Zirkzee was brought on to replace Cunha as Benjamin Sesko remained on the bench.
Cunha’s unfortunate early exit came just minutes after United took the lead at Old Trafford.
United skipper Bruno Fernandes whipped in a cross from the left and found the head of an unmarked Casemiro.
The defensive midfielder’s header smacked against the crossbar, only for it to cannon back towards the goal off of Josh Cullen’s shoulder.
Clarets goalkeeper Martin Dubravka thought he dove across in time to keep the ball out, but goal line technology revealed it had already crossed the line.
