India’s ODI and Test captains, Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill, have checked in at the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Centre of Excellence for pre-season fitness assessments. Apart from them, Mohammed Siraj Jitesh Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, Washington Sundar, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Shardul Thakur have also arrived in Bengaluru.
Rohit and Siraj were reported to undergo fitness tests on either August 30 or 31, with Gill also joining them. Rohit has been reported to have shown interest in playing for India A in late September and early October as preparations for the ODI series against Australia.

Although he hasn’t been included in South Zone’s squad for the Duleep Trophy, he might be added as a last-minute entry.
Jitesh and Bumrah are part of Asia Cup squad, which will leave for Dubai on September 4. Jaiswal and Shardul are part of West Zone team. Others like Tilak Varma, Arshdeep Singh, Harshit Rana, and Kuldeep Yadav have already been camped in at the CoE.
