TAXPAYER-funded jobs teaching illegal immigrants balloon art and painting have been scrapped after being exposed by The Sun.
Home Office ministers directed the removal of the wacky job roles, which they deemed unnecessary, after our probe raised the alarm.
Private contractor Mitie confirmed it would close applications for the £31,500-a-year positions three weeks early.
It was taken offline late on Thursday night.
The remaining roles, a Hairdressing Tutor, a Vocational Skills Tutor, a Painting Tutor and a £39k-a-year Gym Manager, were also then quietly removed.
It is unclear how many applicants there were but none will be considered for the positions at the massive Heathrow Immigration Removal Centre in West London.
Would-be balloon experts are now shown a note on the Mitie website indicating they can no longer apply.
It reads: “Vacancy Closed. We are no longer accepting applications for this position.”
It comes after our revelations triggered Home Office minister Seema Malhotra to ask for the roles to be scrapped.
She said: “We don’t believe all these roles are necessary and have told the Home Office to speak to Mitie to remove them.”

Mitie, the agency that runs the 1,000-capacity Heathrow IRC, is required to run recreational sessions as part of its £290million Home Office contract.
