Residents in suburban Thornton were briefly asked to avoid the scene of a “critical incident” and police investigation Wednesday.
According to officials, there was a “heavy police presence” near the intersection of Bonnie and Highland where officers responded to what was termed a “critical incident.”
The incident stemmed from a stolen vehicle pursuit, which ended when a suspect fled into a residence on Bonnie Court.
The suspect has been taken into custody, and charges are pending in the case.
The South Suburban Emergency Response Team assisted Thornton police in the investigation.
There is no ongoing threat to the community.
