Jennifer Lopez’s Former Costar Shades Her With Subtle Jab

Luis Guzmán did not hold back when asked about his experience working with Jennifer Lopez.

The actor, 68, appeared alongside his Wednesday castmates Jenna Ortega, Emma Myers, Joy Sunday and Georgie Farmer in a “Hot Ones Versus” video published on Tuesday, August 26.

“You’ve worked with some of the biggest legends in Hollywood history,” Myers, 23, told Guzmán as photos of him with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Adam Sandler and Mark Wahlberg appeared on the screen. “I will now run down a list of your previous collaborators and you must quickly give me one word that best describes them.”

When Myers brought up Lopez, 56, Guzmán replied with an unenthusiastic shrug that she was “OK.” His Wednesday costars were shocked by his unfiltered opinion, gasping and laughing afterward.

Guzmán and Lopez starred together in the 1998 crime comedy film Out of Sight, portraying escaped prisoner Jose “Chino” Chirino and U.S. Marshal Karen Sisco, respectively. George Clooney, Ving Rhames, Don Cheadle, Steve Zahn and Viola Davis rounded out the cast.

While Guzmán didn’t give Lopez a glowing review, he had nothing but kind words to share about his other costars in the “Hot Ones” video, calling his frequent collaborator Sandler, 58, “amazing.” The two have appeared together in 2002’s Punch-Drunk Love, 2003’s Anger Management, 2014’s Top Five, 2016’s The Do-Over, 2017’s Sandy Wexler and 2023’s You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah.

As for his Wednesday castmates, Guzmán described Catherine Zeta-Jones as “bellísima” — which means beautiful in Spanish — and Ortega, 22, as “a prodigy.”

Ortega was noticeably flattered by the compliment, responding, “Aww, I love you.” Guzmán subsequently mouthed the words back to her.

Guzmán portrays Gomez Addams on the Netflix series, with Zeta-Jones, 55, and Ortega playing his wife, Morticia, and his daughter, Wednesday, respectively. Part one of Wednesday’s second season premiered on August 6, with part two scheduled to drop on September 3.
