Country superstar Morgan Wallen earned a major career milestone that has him being compared to Taylor Swift on the day of her engagement news. As Parade reported, Swift and Travis Kelce are getting hitched.
However, that has nothing to do with why Wallen and Swift’s names are being used in the same sentence. Wallen has made history with his latest album in a way that only Taylor has done before him.

Morgan Wallen On Top
According to American Songwriter, Wallen’s fourth studio album, I’m the Problem, has topped the Billboard 200 for 12 weeks. The outlet revealed that Luminate, the site that uses data to rank the albums each week, revealed Wallen’s album appeared in the No. 1 slot starting on May 31.
Thanks to the album's 12 weeks at the top of the chart, Wallen is the second person with the most weeks at No. 1. First place goes to Swift, who has spent 86 weeks in the top slot on the Billboard 200 chart over her career.

News of his major career accomplishment comes after Wallen was fined a significant amount of money after the latest stop on his I’m the Problem Tour. Wallen played past the 11:30 pm finish in Oxborough, Massachusetts, during his concert at Gillette Stadium.
The 32-year-old was too busy giving fans what they wanted to stop, and now he’s paid the price. Next, Wallen will tour Canada for four more concerts.
Country Singer Morgan Wallen's Controversial History
Even though Wallen has been heating up the music charts, the country singer often finds himself embroiled in controversy. Most notably, Wallen faced backlash after video footage of him using a racial slur went viral in 2021.
Following the viral video, the country singer was forced to cancel his tour and banned from several awards shows. It took a couple of years for country music to let him back in, but Wallen bounced back only to have another incident arise.

In 2024, Wallen was arrested after he threw a chair off a rooftop bar. This spring, Wallen made headlines for walking off the Saturday Night Live set early during his hosting gig. Wallen followed his exit with a social media share featuring his plane and the words, “Get me to God’s country.”
All the drama hasn’t seemed to impact how much fans love Wallen or his music, though. Perhaps he took a page out ofJason Aldean’s book when it comes to living life and tuning out the backlash.
Wallen certainly has something to celebrate today as he makes history, and joins Swift in an exclusive club.
