CHARLOTTE, N.Y. — The New York State Department of Health is stepping in after a local rehab and nursing center has been the focus of serious resident care and facility condition concerns, according to a few state assemblymembers.
News10NBC has been reporting on the issues at Waterview Heights in Charlotte for the past seven months, and our Deanna Dewberry has worked on over a dozen investigations.

Now, Assemblymembers Sarah Clark and Josh Jensen tell us the NYS Department of Health (DOH) will appoint a temporary manager, and has been working with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services to find other solutions for the long list of problems at Waterview.

The DOH published an inspection report that included details of the death of four residents earlier this month. Click here to read it.
That’s when Josh Jensen told News10NBC, “Have the state take over as operator of the facility or take other steps that don’t include continued operation.”
News10NBC reached out to the DOH for confirmation and more information about the “temporary manager” on Tuesday afternoon. A representative says they will get us information as soon as possible.
