Damascus, SANA- Syrian Finance Minister, Mohammad Yasser Barnieh discussed with the Chargé d’Affaires of the French Embassy in Damascus, Jean-Baptiste Faivre, accompanied by the Minister Plenipotentiary for Economic Affairs of Syria and Lebanon, prospects for bilateral cooperation in the financial sector. The meeting focused on opportunities for technical support and capacity-building initiatives.
In a LinkedIn post, Minister Bernieh highlighted that the talks, held at the Ministry’s headquarters, also addressed preparations for an upcoming visit to Syria by a delegation of French business leaders and major companies, scheduled for October 1.
Barnieh stressed the importance of knowledge transfer from European Union member states and called for the establishment of a European center for capacity building and training in the business sector, in line with European standards.
