AN EastEnders star has confirmed an extended filming break saying: “I won’t be on it for a while”.
The BBC soap has a large cast, but one member will be missing for two months.
Ross Boatman – who plays Harvey Monroe – had to take a break from EastEnders to undergo knee replacement surgery.
Speaking on Matthew Rolland’s Isolation Interviews YouTube series, Ross said: “I won’t be on it for a while.
“I haven’t had a chance to shoot loads with Gilly [Gillian Taylforth who plays Kathy Beale] yet because I’ve just been off for two months.
“I had knee replacement surgery, so I haven’t been there.
“And now she’s on holiday, so I’m hoping we’ve got some stuff to shoot coming up soon, which will come out, maybe, towards the end of the year. Fingers crossed.”
Ross is now back filming after his two month break, and he hinted at scenes between Harvey and Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) and Ross Marshall (Alex Walkinshaw).
He also teased that viewers will see a change in his character now he has left the Slater household, following Harvey’s break up with Jean Slater to be with Kathy.
The actor said he was “sad to be leaving the Slaters”, saying: “I felt quite sad with it because these stories are not within your control.”
Meanwhile, Monday’s episode saw a character return after 11 years away from Albert Square.
Anthony Trueman, who is played by Nicholas Bailey, arrived in Walford and immediately made a beeline for a former flame.
He got out of a black cab outside of the Queen Vic and walked straight onto the path of his ex and the new pub landlord, Kat Moon.
Starting up a conversation with a suggestive remark, Anthony told Kat, who was holding a tub of ice cream: “Kat’s still got the cream I see.”
A shocked Kat responded: “Anthony, it’s been ages – come here,” as the former lovers enjoyed a warm embrace.
She added: “Oh look at you, Scotland’s treated you well,” as Anthony said: “Can’t complain, apart from the wife and two boys draining my wallet.”
“Same here,” the pub owner explained. “Except I’ve got three and an Alfie.”
