POLICE REPORTS

DUI: An officer stopped a vehicle at the intersection of South State and Mill streets at 12:43 a.m. Aug. 22 and arrested Gabriel I. Rojas, 28, of Redwood Valley, on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol. He was booked into county jail.
DOG IN VEHICLE: Caller in the 200 block of North Orchard Avenue reported at 2:37 p.m. Aug. 22 that a dog was in a vehicle. An officer responded and reported contacting the owner, who was “counseled and advised.”
DOG IN VEHICLE: Caller at Safeway on South State Street reported at 2:38 p.m. Aug. 22 that a dog was in a vehicle. An officer responded and reported that the dog was fine.
ILLEGAL CAMPING: An officer responded to Cherry Street at 4:45 p.m. Aug. 23 for a report of illegal camping and reported that the people “moved along upon request.”
DRUNK PEOPLE ON LAWN: Caller at Walmart on Airport Park Boulevard reported at 6:04 p.m. Aug. 23 that drunk people were on the lawn. An officer responded and arrested a 40-year-old Hopland woman for two warrants and booked her into Mendocino County Jail.
PANHANDLER: Caller at McDonald’s on North Orchard Avenue reported at 9:56 a.m. Aug. 24 that a panhandler with a sign was near the drive-thru. An officer responded and reported that the person left upon request. Caller at 11:18 a.m. reported that a panhandler with a sign was near the drive-thru. An officer checked the area and reported that the person was gone.
The following were compiled from reports prepared by the UPD regarding calls handled by the Fort Bragg Police Department.
DUI: An officer stopped a vehicle in the 200 block of North Main Street at 1:02 a.m. Aug. 22 and arrested Natalie Rocco, 43, of Sacramento, on suspicion of driving under the influence. She was cited and released.
DRUNK IN PUBLIC: An officer responded to Glass Beach at 1:55 p.m. Aug. 22 for a report of drunk people on the beach and reported that those involved were “given a courtesy ride to their hotel.”
DUI: An officer stopped a vehicle in the 1100 block of North Main Street at 2:24 a.m. Aug. 24 and arrested Nathaniel Bates, 30, of Sacramento, on suspicion of driving under the influence. He was cited and released.
Those arrested by law enforcement officers are innocent until proven guilty. People reported as having been arrested may contact the Daily Journal once their case has been concluded so the results can be reported. Those who feel the information is in error should contact the appropriate agency. In the case of those arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of an intoxicant, all DUI cases reported by law enforcement agencies are reported by the newspaper.
