Mingus Reedus, the son of actor Norman Reedus and model Helena Christensen, has been arrested in New York City following an alleged assault.
According to the NYPD who spoke with PEOPLE, officers responded to a call near 16th Street and 8th Avenue around 8:40 a.m. on Saturday, August 23. When they arrived, authorities “observed a 33-year-old female with minor injuries to [her] neck and leg.” Police confirmed that “EMS responded and transported the victim to NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue in stable condition.”
According to the outlet, the 25-year-old son of the Walking Dead alum was taken into custody and charged with assault and criminal obstruction of breathing. An investigation into the incident remains active.

The New York Post shared images of the arrest. Mingus was photographed wearing a black shirt and green basketball shorts hunched over getting into the back of a police car. Other photos showed him in cuffs being walked to the car by officials.
This is not the first time Mingus has faced legal issues. Back in September 2021, he was arrested at New York’s San Gennaro festival after allegedly punching a 24-year-old woman during an argument. Police reported that the woman sustained an injury under her left eye and was treated at Downtown Hospital.
At the time, Mingus told The New York Daily News that the altercation began when a group targeted him and his friends, claiming he had acted in self-defense. He later took a plea deal in March 2022, reducing the charges to disorderly conduct.
Mingus is the only child of Norman and Christensen, who welcomed him in 1999 — the former couple dated for five years before splitting in 2003.
