Chicago police arrested a 17-year-old girl who stabbed and critically injured a woman during a fight near a CTA station in the city’s Greater Grand Crossing neighborhood, authorities said.

At approximately 5:53 p.m. on Friday, officers were called to near the 69th Street Red Line station after a 17-year-old girl allegedly stabbed a 20-year-old woman, police said in a news release. The two got into a fight, at which point the teen produced a sharp object and stabbed the woman twice in her torso, authorities said.

    The victim was taken to an area hospital, where she was listed in critical condition. The suspect was placed in custody and transported to a local hospital for a minor injury, police stated.

    The teenager was arrested for felony aggravated battery/great bodily harm.

    Detectives were conducting an investigation into the stabbing.
