Auburn has hauled in one of the prized recruits of the 2026 cycle.
Bralan Womack, rated by 247Sports’ Composite as the No. 15 overall recruit and the No. 1 safety in his class, committed to Hugh Freeze and the Tigers on Thursday during a live appearance on CBS Sports’ college football channel on YouTube. He becomes the first 5-star recruit of the cycle to pledge to Auburn.
Womack had a final 4 of Auburn, Florida, Ohio State, and Texas A&M. He took an official to Florida on May 30, followed by Texas A&M on June 6, Auburn on June 13, and Ohio State on June 20. Ultimately, though, it was Auburn who won his pledge.
The Flowood, Miss. product easily becomes the highest-rated recruit of the 2026 class and among the highest-rated recruits overall in the Freeze era on the Plains. Defensive lineman Malik Autry was ranked No. 25 in the 2025 class when he pledged to the Tigers’ 6th-ranked recruiting class. The 2024 class featured a pair of 5-star players in wide receiver Cam Coleman and edge rusher Amaris Williams.
Womack’s commitment brings Auburn’s count for the cycle to 13 players. He is the 5th defensive player to commit to the Tigers and the second defensive back, joining Baltimore’s Wayne Henry.
