Roger Goodell’s NFL announced a suspension decision on Wednesday.
San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Demarcus Robinson has been suspended for three games due to a violation of the NFL’s substance abuse policy.
The punishment was expected for the 49ers when the team signed him to a two-year, $9.5 million deal this summer.
Robinson, who played with the Los Angeles Rams in the 2023 and 2024 seasons, was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving last November.
Police officers stopped him after he was driving over 100 miles per hour.
Last month, Robinson pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor DUI charge in California.
As a result, the 30-year-old won’t have to serve any jail time.
Still, Robinson was sentenced to three years of probation in Los Angeles as well as pay a $390 fine.
The 10-year veteran also has to complete a three-month alcohol program.
And Robinson was also charged with driving with a blood alcohol level of 0.08 or higher and driving without a valid license.
Both charges were dropped.
Robinson began his career with the Kansas City Chiefs, where he won a Super Bowl over his current team, the 49ers, in 2019.
He also played for the Baltimore Ravens, where he caught a career-high 48 receptions in 2022.

He will now work in a 49ers receiving room that includes Brandon Aiyuk, Jauan Jennings, and Ricky Pearsall.
However, the team will be without Aiyuk until Week 6 as he still recovers from a knee injury he suffered last season.
And San Francisco won’t get to utilize Robinson until September 28 in Week 4 when the team faces the Jacksonville Jaguars.
