Ever wish you could step right into a board game? This fall, you can. UC San Diego is bringing the classic whodunit to life with CLUE: A Walking Mystery—a larger-than-life, on-foot adventure that transforms the campus into a playground of secrets, puzzles, and intrigue.
Here’s the twist: in this reimagined version, the murder was never solved, the mansion has been sold, and the furniture from all nine rooms has been scattered across campus. Your mission is to hunt down the missing pieces, crack the codes hidden within them, and finally uncover WHO did it, WHERE, and with WHAT.
Part scavenger hunt, part escape room, this immersive game kicks off at the Epstein Family Amphitheater before winding through UC San Diego’s most iconic landmarks, including the Stuart Collection’s Snake Path and the world-famous Geisel Library.
Each time slot welcomes up to 20 detectives. To keep things interesting, the Butler will divide players into investigation teams of four to five. Large groups can stick together by request, while bigger parties will be split into rival teams—because what’s a mystery without a little competition?
The event runs from Aug. 22 to Sept. 28.
