DENVER (KDVR) — The Derby Fire is moving quickly in Garfield and Eagle counties, burning almost 1,000 acres between Wednesday night and Thursday morning, according to a wildfire information app.
The Derby Fire sparked on Saturday night after lightning struck north of Interstate 70, about 15 miles north of Dotsero. The wildfire was about 50 acres on Tuesday, and grew almost 400% throughout the day, burning an estimated 245 acres by the end. Now, the fire is growing even more.
