Tim McGraw is gearing up for a major gig at Field of Dreams in Iowa on Aug. 30 and he'll be bringing along a very special guest: His nephew, Timothy Wayne.
Wayne has broken into the country music world, releasing his own music and starting to make a name for himself. While he's playing music, Wayne is also a senior at Louisiana State where he's majoring in history.
On Aug. 19, Wayne chatted with Fox & Friends about all things college, music, and his upcoming appearance at Field of Dreams, which is set to be a "once in a lifetime event." Wayne is set to open the show for his uncle.
"I have a really, really good support team behind me," Wayne said of his ability to juggle multiple things at once. "Make no mistake, we run on 200% constantly."
"I'd always wanted to be in the business," he said of his budding music career. "But I didn't have the faith in myself to do it and it wasn't until later in life, around the end of my high school career that I really started believing in myself because everybody around me told me that I should give it a shot."
The musician went on to talk about the kind of music that he writes and the goals he has when it comes to the music he releases. He then talked about his upcoming Field of Dreams appearance.
"I'm a massive fan of the 'Field of Dreams' movie so this is really exciting for me," Wayne, who toured with McGraw in 2024, shared. McGraw will headline the "first-ever, all-day concert" at the venue. The performance will be extra special as McGraw will also honor his dad, Tug McGraw, who played in the major leagues.
Wayne released the single "That'd Be You" back in February. The track was produced by Byron Gallimore and Wayne's "Uncle Tim."
"I came into the studio with the idea of writing a love song," Wayne said when the song was released. “I had the melody, so I called Mark Collie, and he reached out to Jamie Moore to set up the session. We started tossing around ideas, and after experimenting with the melody and lyrics, ‘That’d Be You’ came to life. It was a really special moment when we finished. This song means a lot to me, especially since it was inspired by my girlfriend, whom I met at LSU. I wrote it not long after we started dating," he added.
