Bachelor in Paradise star Ashley Iaconetti is revealing the joys of parenting, including becoming a pro at potty training!
Ashley met her husband, Jared Haibon, on the ABC reality show in 2015. They currently have two sons, Dawson, 3, and Hayden, 1. The couple recently taught their oldest boy how to go to the bathroom, with their second son soon to follow.
In an exclusive interview with Parade on August 15, Ashley said, “We started potty-training Dawson in January. He is now fully potty trained. He doesn’t want to pee in his pants.”

Ashley has become a spokesperson for baby gear company Chicco, which offers a three-in-one potty training seat, but she and Jared first used positive reinforcement by giving treats to Dawson.
“He would get one M&M for pee and two M&Ms for poop. And we also would show him his favorite YouTube clips from his favorite movies when he was sitting on the toilet. But now he just goes to the bathroom without rewards, which is nice,” Ashley told Parade.
Ashley said the key was Chicco’s system that helps toddlers transition from diapers to using a regular toilet. It includes a standalone potty chair, a toilet topper and a step stool. They expect to use the product again when they potty train their second child about a year from now, when he turns 2. “It’s designed to be easy for parents and for kids,” she said.
Ashley, 37, and Jared, 36, are one of BIP's biggest "power couples." After meeting on the tropical Bachelor spinoff reality show in Season 2 in 2015, they went through drama together on the next edition the following year. But the couple persevered, getting engaged on Season 5 in 2018. They married in August 2019 and guested on Paradise Season 8, advising contestants and sharing some alone time in the show’s “boom boom room.”

While Ashley is forever grateful the show got her and Jared together, they aren’t appearing on the current Paradise Season 10. She noted, “The production team is so much different than it used to be, so most of our friends in production are gone. So I don’t think Jared and I would be the natural first call, nor do we expect to go back so often. But we always love to visit when they have us.”
At any rate, the couple are too busy juggling their various ventures with parenthood now. They own Audrey’s Coffee House and Lounge in South Kingstown, Rhode Island. Additionally Ashley co-hosts the "Almost Famous" podcast with The Bachelor season 20 star Ben Higgins.
Ashley admitted having two kids to care for instead of just one has been an adjustment for her and Jared. “It’s busy," she said. "We think that that there’s more of a shakeup—not like in your relationship but your whole lifestyle when you have a second [child]. Because when you want to go out on date night, it’s not like just [to a babysitter], ‘Oh, hey, can you watch my one kid and pop them in front of the TV for a little while?’ It’s like, ‘Can you take on my two?!’ Everything is a little harder. It’s not like you can switch [one child] back and forth [between you]. But Jared and I are doing well, and we’re so blessed to have these two little angel boys.”

In fact, Ashley and Jared took the sons along when they took a Royal Caribbean cruise to mark their six-year wedding anniversary this month. “We went to a private island. It was only three days. Jared bought me this necklace,” she said, showing Parade a silver necklace with a small round emerald charm. “It was really sweet, and we just had the best time. It’s always chaos when you take kids anywhere or you have them at home, so I say, take them somewhere and create some new memories because, despite being stressed out a lot, we walk away from it smiling.”
Ashley has previously talked about suffering from the severe form of morning sickness called hyperemesis gravidarum during pregnancy, which is one of the reasons she’s done having kids. She reiterated to Parade, “We are very much done. We are certain about being done. We don’t want to be outnumbered…and I don’t like being pregnant. My favorite stage is the toddler stage for sure. I don’t want to go through a baby stage again. Our kids are very fussy babies. But when they start moving and grooving and beginning to communicate better, they seem to really relax. [Now] I love chatting to Dawson. Everything he says is endearing and adorable and hilarious. It’s just awesome to see them become little people.”
The proud mom added, “Dawson is the brightest light. He has the best energy. He’s full of love and sensitivity and he’s so animated and gets excited about everything. He’s a joy to be around. From what we can tell at one year old, Hayden is mischievous, he likes to play game. He’s very wise. He’s a jokester, from what I can figure so far.”
According to Ashley, Jared is “the most involved father you’ll ever meet. He plays with them, takes care of them. My parents are in awe of how hands-on he is and how much time he spends with them. He is the greatest dad. I wish that every dad was like him.”
