Level 1 breaches carry penalties ranging from an official reprimand to a fine of up to 50% of the player’s match fee, along with one or two demerit points.
A total of four or more demerit points within 24 months converts into suspension points, which can lead to a ban from matches. Two suspension points equal a ban from one Test or two ODIs/T20Is. Demerit points remain on a player’s record for 24 months before being removed.
South Africa Lead ODI Series 1-0 After Losing T20Is
South Africa posted a total of 298 runs, with Aiden Markram scoring 82 off 81 balls. Adam Zampa picked up one wicket for 58 runs in his 10 overs. Travis Head was the only Australian bowler to make an impact, taking four wickets for 57 runs.
In the second innings, Keshav Maharaj exploited the pitch conditions, claiming a five-wicket haul. Nandre Burger and Lungi Ngidi contributed two wickets each. Skipper Mitchell Marsh top-scored for Australia with 88 runs off 96 balls.
Australia was bowled out for 198, giving South Africa a convincing 98-run victory. This win marked a strong start for the Proteas in the ODI series after losing the T20I series 2-1. Maharaj was named Player of the Match for his outstanding bowling performance.
