A civilian oversight agency is investigating a shooting involving Chicago police officers in Grant Park overnight Sunday.
According to the Civilian Office of Police Accountability, the investigation was launched after at least one officer discharged a weapon in the 700 block of South Columbus Drive, located just southwest of Buckingham Fountain and other park attractions. The scene is also located near the upcoming Taste of Chicago, which wraps up on Sunday.
It was not immediately reported what led to the shooting, nor if anyone was hit by gunfire.
Video from the scene showed numerous evidence markers on the ground in the intersection of Balbo and Columbus, with police continuing to investigate in the area Sunday morning.
