LE ROY, N.Y. – Firefighters responded to a fire at Wolcott Street School in Le Roy around 5:15 p.m. today. The fire was located in the band room.
The Le Royfire chief said contractors were welding near the ceiling in that area of the school earlier in the day. The fire alarm went off, and staff members in the building were evacuated.
Crews found a smoldering section and extinguished the fire. No one was injured.
The Wolcott Street School campus will reopen tomorrow.
