After weeks of speculation, it has been confirmed that Ryan Paevey is returning to General Hospital. The actor left the ABC soap, where he played Nathan West for five years, in 2018.
In June, Paevey got the rumor mill buzzing that he was coming back to Port Charles, or at the very least, filming a new Hallmark movie. Paevey announced in 2024 that he was stepping back from acting for various reasons.

Now he’s going back to where it all began for him on General Hospital,and fans have thoughts about it. The Stone Cold and Jackel Instagram page shared the news, which had fans flocking to the comments section.
While Paevey’s return is happening, the ABC soap has yet to reveal whether he will return as Nathan or a new character. That only added fuel to fans’ responses on the Instagram post.
“Nathan and Maxie were endgame! I hope he’s coming back as Nathan! He needs to not be dead!” wrote a fan. Another fan expressed, “No way!!!! This is the best news I’ve heard in a while! Yay.”
Other excited fan comments included, “Excited for this,” “It’s about time!!! Can’t wait!” and “So happy. You are returning, to GH.?????????.”
However, a couple of fans are not here for Nathan to come back and get between Maxie (Kirsten Storms) and Spinelli (Bradford Anderson).

Speaking of Sam, Paevey's return after seven years and Nathan's possibly coming back from the dead gave one fan hope that someday, Kelly Monaco will resurface on the show.
