THE Tennessee Titans are chugging along on the construction of their new stadium.
New Nissan Stadium will soon look over Nashville, Tennessee and be the home of the Tennessee Titans.
New Nissan Stadium is set to be a multi-purpose, enclosed venue that will house the Titans and Tennessee State University.
There is also the goal to host events like the Super Bowl, Final Four, and major concerts.
New Nissan Stadium is designed to hold around 60,000 fans and will utilize an artificial turf field.
The stadium is being built adjacent to the current Nissan Stadium.
Groundbreaking took place on February 29, 2024.
It is expected to be completed in time for the 2027 NFL season.
Titans president and CEO Burke Nihill told AZ Sports that the stadium is on track to finish on schedule.
“It’s completely on track,” he said.
“It’s remarkable, the quality of work that the team has done.
“Our internal lead is a guy named Kellen DeCoursey, he’s the project executive.
“They laid out a completion date at the end of February 2027. And it’s just kind of been within that one week period the entire time.
“You know, rain storms, all kinds of reasons for delays right? And they’re just completely on track.
“They’re so good at what they do.”
The stadium has a projected cost of around $2.1 billion from public and private funding.
