Marvel and Disney’s newest release Thunderbolts* has proved a hit with superhero fans and critics alike – with RadioTimes.com's own review giving it four stars – and viewers will no doubt be wondering when it’s set to land on streaming.
While the Florence Pugh-led Marvel flick is already available to rent and buy on digital, three months on from the movie’s theatrical debut we now know when it’s officially set to be released on Disney+ – and fortunately there isn’t too long to wait.
And, given that the film features a much-talked-about post-credit scene, which provides some big revelations about the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, you might just want to save the date.
The movie follows a ragtag crew of superheroes who are tasked with fighting off superhuman threats while dealing with their own personal battles, with Pugh joined by Sebastian Stan, Julia Louis-Dreyfus and David Harbour, while fans were also introduced a brand-new comic character in the shape of Lewis Pullman's Bob.
A few days after release, the film was also officially given an alternative title – The New Avengers – which both explained why there had been an asterisk in the original name and also helped to set things up for the future of the MCU.

Thunderbolts* Disney+ release date
Thunderbolts* might have proved a hit amongst critics and fans alike following its theatrical release, but it certainly had a less-than-stellar performance at the box office.
However, with an official streaming release date now having been confirmed, it looks like the film is about to reach a much bigger audience.
Thunderbolts* will begin streaming on Disney+ on 27th August, 2025.

Thunderbolts* is available now on digital platforms including Prime Video, Sky Store, Apple TV and Google TV. Since 1st July, it has been available to rent or buy at home.
Typically, the home launch of a recent blockbuster film begins at a high cost of £15.99 to rent or £19.99 to buy digitally, but it's worth remembering that Thunderbolts* will eventually be available to stream for no extra cost via Disney+.
As is usual with Marvel releases, fans who want to relive the action at home can choose between digital, 4K UHD and Blu-ray versions of the movie, which include exclusive content such as deleted scenes, a gag reel, behind-the-scenes featurettes, and filmmaker commentary by director Jake Schreier.
The Blu-ray and 4K releases are available to pre-order now, with the release date falling on 4th August.
