ESPN has announced a major change to broadcasting plans for the 2025 NFL season.
The network will show 25 regular-season games this year.
Some weeks they will have more than one game on at a given time.
And ESPN has taken the decision to bolster both television crews ready for action.
Former Fox NFL Sunday star Peter Schrager will be on the sidelines in one of the teams.
Schrager was a regular on Fox NFL Kickoff at 11 am ET on Sundays.
He was also a host of Good Morning Football on NFL Network before switching to ESPN.
And Schrager was confirmed as a sideline reporter for five games.
He will work with the broadcast team of Chris Fowler, Dan Orlovsky and Louis Riddick.
Katie George will work the other sideline with Schrager as part of that crew.
ESPN also added a second sideline reporter to the main team.
Joe Buck and Troy Aikman will continue in the booth for 20 of the network’s games.
They will once again be joined by Lisa Salters on the field.
And NFL Live host Laura Rutledge is joining the broadcast team as a permanent member.
Schrager was a guest on The Pat McAfee Show on Tuesday.
He said, “I’m really excited to get back on the sidelines for Monday Night Football.”
“I can’t wait to get back out there.

ESPN’s first double-header of the season is Week 2.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will take on the Houston Texans on September 15.
And that game will be followed by the Los Angeles Chargers against the Las Vegas Raiders.
