Wesley Schlachter of Flatiron Athletic Club has sent his verbal commitment to Seton Hall University for the fall of 2025.
I am very excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my athletic and academic career at Seton Hall University! I want to thank my family, my teammates, and my coaches for helping me get to this point. I would also like to thank Coach Derek and Coach Andrew as well as the Seton Hall team for making this decision so easy. #hallin
The Boulder, Colorado native was a top-10 finisher in two events at the 2025 CHSAA Boys 5A State Championships in May, placing 8th in the 200 freestyle (1:41.34) and 9th in the 500 freestyle (4:42.29).

Last month, Schlachter competed at the Futures Championships in Sacramento (LCM), where he set personal bests in the 50 butterfly (27.22) and 200 freestyle (1:57.48). He also posted a lifetime best in the 200 IM (2:16.56) during a time trial.

Event Time 200 Free 1:41.04 500 Free 4:37.89 200 Fly 1:53.76 400 IM 4:08.84Schlachter will join the Pirates in the Big East Conference, where the men’s team finished runner-up to Georgetown at the 2025 Big East Swimming and Diving Championships. Based on last season’s results, his 200 free time would have placed him in the top four of the consolation final, while his 500 free was just 0.8 seconds shy of qualifying for the finals.
His current bests would have ranked him 4th on last season’s roster in the 500 free, 3rd in the 200 fly, and 7th in the 200 free.
Schlachter joins an incoming class that also includes Jaeger Ellerman, a sprint breaststroker from Newport, Kentucky.
