Cars shows and Hawaiian BBQ on tap for Best of the Week

Car show season is still going strong in the Greeley area. Saturday features three shows in Greeley, offering a feast for the eyes.

If you’re more in the mood for a feast for the stomach, Thursday is Hawaiian BBQ night at a local barbecue restaurant.

    Saturday

    Conquest Classic Cars hosts its summer car show from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at its shop, 3805 W. 10th St., Greeley. There will be a free cookout, giveaways and plenty of cars.

    Victory Outreach Greeley Church hosts its car show from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the church, 2626 11th Ave., Unit B. There will be plenty of family fun and cars.

    The G-Town Throwdown indoor car show is from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Island Grove Park, 1223 A St., Greeley. A concert is from 2:30-4 p.m. The show is hosted by Azteca Boxing Club and Boulevard Bullyz Car Club.

    Sunday

    The second annual 970 Invasion special event is from 1-5 p.m. at Xclusive Barbershop, 1819 9th St., Greeley. There will be premium haircuts available for students up to seniors in high school throughout the event, along with other activities.

    Monday

    A historical walking tour of the University of Northern Colorado West Campus is from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the northeast corner of 11th Avenue and 22nd Street next to the Campus Commons. This free tour is led by Jediah Cummins, UNC director of strategy and operations for student affairs. It will focus on the school’s history from 1956 to present day, as well as planned changes to the campus.

    Tuesday

    The Loveland West Farmers’ Market is from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at JAX West Loveland, 2665 W. Eisenhower Blvd.

    Thursday

    Georgia Boys BBQ hosts Hawaiian BBQ night from 6-7 p.m. at the restaurant, 2473 28th St., Greeley. For $31.50 per person, the night includes a loaded Hawaiian BBQ platter, a personal-sized pineapple cake and a non-alcoholic drink.

    Friday, Aug. 15

    The Logan Ryan Band takes the stage at 8 p.m. at the Moxi Theater, 802 9th St., Greeley. The band’s first single, “Buenos Noches,” came out in 2017. Their song “Tecovas” has nearly 3 million streams on Spotify. To purchase tickets, go to moxitheater.com. Tickets start at $25.
