SHILO Sanders is facing an uphill battle to make the Tampa Bay Buccaneers roster.
Sanders, 25, joined the Bucs as an undrafted free agent this spring.
The safety is hoping to earn himself a roster spot in Florida.
But his hopes of making it in the NFL suffered a major setback during training camp.
Sanders was listed as the team’s fourth-string safety.
The 25-year-old is said to have improved dramatically since he joined the team.
He has also apparently become a locker room favorite.
If Sanders misses out on the final 53-man roster, it will not be for a lack of effort.
Buccaneers general manager Jason Licht gave him a glowing endorsement on The Pat And Aaron Show on WDAE radio.
“He does do all the right things,” Licht said.
“He’s just been an awesome kid around the facility.
“First one in. Very, very respectful of everybody, not just his coaches but, you know, people working in all aspects of the organization.
“Great kid. Rooting for him.”
Sanders, coach Todd Bowles was also asked about his progress in training camp.
“He’s coming along,” Bowles said.
“He’s getting the scheme down; he’s made plays like everybody else back there.
“There’s a few tests that come up during the preseason, Tuesday night was one.
