A 46-year-old man was killed Sunday in a San Diego Gaslamp Quarter bar shooting.
The shooting occurred about 5:15 p.m. Sunday on the third floor of a bar at 701 Sixth Ave., according to San Diego Police Department spokesman Lt. Travis Easter.
The Cielo Rooftop Lounge is listed at that address.
Multiple people called police to report the shooting and arriving officers found a man on the ground in a third-floor hallway with at least one gunshot wound, Easter said. He was pronounced dead at the scene. His name withheld pending notification of relatives.
Officers also found several people detaining a man on the sidewalk outside the building, identifying him as the shooter, the lieutenant said. They directed officers to a handgun they claimed to have recovered from him.
Officers arrested 37-year-old Bryan Tyner of San Diego and police expected to book him into the San Diego County Jail on suspicion of murder, Easter said.
A crime scene investigation continued into the evening as officers processed evidence and interviewed witnesses, he said.
