(PINPOINT WEATHER) -- Cooler temperatures and increased rain chances will continue from the start of the week through Friday!
This morning sits in the 60s across the Carolinas as winds stay light out of the northeast between 3 and 8 miles per hour. We’ll be mostly cloudy as well with a few peaks of sunshine likely throughout the day.
Highs will aim for the low to mid-80s today, while mountain counties will reach the 70s. Rain will move in from the south and west, focusing mostly west of Interstate 77. We’ll see increasing pockets of rain as we head into the evening hours.
Look for a few rounds of moderate to heavy rain to move up through Cleveland, Gaton, and Lincoln Counties with up to three-quarters of an inch of rain possible. Uptown and areas east will likely see a quarter of an inch of rain or less.
Overnight lows will dip into the upper 60s as rain lingers through most of the night. Tuesday will rebound into the upper 70s with below normal temperatures expected to last through most of the week.
Tuesday & Wednesday will see more pronounced rain chances before spotty storms arrive late in the week. This active pattern will ease up as we head into the weekend, and mid to upper 80s take hold Saturday & Sunday.
