A man armed with a gun was taken into custody by police after entering a restricted parking lot at the Schaumburg Regional Airport, village officials said Friday.
At approximately 2:30 p.m., officers responded to the airport, 905 W. Irving Park Rd. regarding a disturbance involving a man with a gun, the village of Schaumburg said in a Facebook post. Officers arrived at the scene, located the individual and quickly took him into custody.
Authorities said the individual entered a restricted parking lot area and “engaged with employees of the airport.”
Airport operations weren’t affected, according to the village.
No injuries were reported.
Police were continuing to investigate as of Friday evening.
