Day six saw five event finals and user “Sports Lover” top the leaderboard with 60 total points. This continued a trend upwards for them after scoring 59 points yesterday and helped move them into 2nd on the overall leaderboard.

They correctly guessed the whole top four of the men’s 200 breaststroke. They also got the gold and silver medalists in the women’s 200 breaststroke, the gold and silver medalists in the men’s 200 backstroke, and the personnel in the top four of the 4×200 freestyle relay, with the gold and bronze correct.

They now sit in 2nd place, just two points behind user “Swiggy” who scored 35 points to total 266 with two days left.

“Kevin” be sure to select your daily prize from these.

Night six had some surprising finishes, and some not so surprising finishes. Many of the major surprises came from the 3rd and 4th place finishers, while the gold medalists were not major upsets, or even upsets at all.

The meet started with the women’s 100 freestyle which had most people get three of the four people in the top-four correct, just maybe not in the right order. Most entrants had some variation of Marrit Steenbergen, Torri Huske, and Mollie O’Callaghan in the top four, but where a lot of entries suffered was with the fourth pick of Gretchen Walsh. Walsh would have been one of the medal favorites, but she scratched out of the event due to ongoing illness in Team USA, which left 450 of 506 people to miss out on at least one point. Many of the entries that did not pick Walsh had Siobhan Haughey as their 4th athlete (again in varying orders). Nobody had Dutch athlete Milou van Wajk, who actually finished 4th.

Qin Haiyang won the men’s 200 breaststroke final, something 191 people predicted. The other common choice for champion was Frenchman Leon Marchand, who pulled out of the event to focus on his IM races. The rest of the race was also relatively predictable with 149 people chosing Ippei Watanabe to take the silver, 54 people choosing Caspar Corbeau for bronze, and 113 people picking Kirill Prigoda to finish 4th.

The men’s 200 backstroke final was the easiest pick for champion of the evening, with Hubert Kos taking 444 of the picks for 1st place. After the gold medal, though, the rest of the event was a complete shock to everyone. South Africa’s Pieter Coetze took 2nd, something only nine people thought would happen. The vast majority of the picks, 315 of them to be precise, went to American Jack Aikins. The bronze and silver medalists were even bigger surprises, with nobody choosing either Yohann Ndoye-Brouard or Blake Tierney to end up in the top four.

The women’s 200 breaststroke had a tie for 3rd, so if you picked either Kaylene Corbett or Alina Zmushka you received four points. The gold and silver medalist were, again, easy to see coming. 309 entries correctly selected Kate Douglass to walk home with the gold, and 186 people chose Evgeniia Chikunova. The silver was a little bit more open to interpretation with 285 people correctly choosing Chikunova, 186 people choosing Douglass, and 16 people choosing Alex Walsh.

The men’s 4×200 freestyle relay followed the line many of the relays have, with the favorite losing. 310 entrants chose the United States to walk home with the gold, where they finished 4th, and only 133 entrants correctly chose Great Britain. Only eight people picked the United States in the 4th position and 2nd and 3rd were a mix of Australia and China.

The psych sheet entry had a terrible day, scoring 20 points with just one event champion correct. It now sits in 395th overall with 196 total points.
