It is day three of the USA Swimming Summer Junior Nationals, and it has been a fun meet so far.
We have a long day ahead of us with the girl’s and boy’s 200 backstrokes and the girl’s and boy’s 400 freestyle events. The 100 fly will sneak in between those two, and will be our shortest event of the day.
Teagan O’Dell is the top seed in the girl’s 200 backstroke by almost four seconds, coming in at 2:07.97 to 15-year-old Ellie Clarke‘s 2:11.68.
The boy’s 200 backstroke sees Gavin Keogh as the top seed, a second-and-a-half ahead of 2nd seed Baylor Stanton. They are the only two seeded under 2:00 this morning.
Mena Boardman leads the girl’s 100 fly as one of six swimmers who have been under a minute in the event. They will be spread out through the final three heats with Caroline Mallard and Jada Duncan as the other lane four swimmers.
Rowan Cox will be the top seed in the boy’s 50 fly, coming in about a second ahead of Enzo Solitario for the top spot. Solitario has been having a strong meet so far, wining the 200 fly and placing 2nd in the 100 freestyle.
Kayla Han and Aiden Hammer are the top seeds in the girl’s and boy’s 400 freestyle with Han coming in six seconds ahead of the rest of the field and Hammer just over one second ahead.
