Michels noted that milder temperatures in the 80s are in the forecast, and chances for hail would be higher if there were more heat.
The risk for hail is expected to go down as the storms move east, past I-25. Hail chances are smaller on the plains, but the storms could bring some heavy showers that could cause some localized flooding. Michels explained that the areas likely to flood will be the same areas that usually accumulate water during storms, like puddles on lower parts of roads.
