‘Chicago P.D.’ Alum Is Back With Her Own TV Show

Chicago P.D. fans hoping to see more of Tracy Spiridakos’ character, Hailey Upton, will have to tune in to the actress’ new TV show instead.

Deadline reported on Tuesday, July 29, that Spiridakos, 37, will lead the upcoming USA Network series Anna Pigeon, which is set to premiere in 2026 and based on novels by Nevada Barr.

According to the outlet, the titular character is “a former city slicker who became a park ranger after a devastating loss changed the trajectory of her life forever. While Anna tries to outrun her demons, her focus turns to solving crimes that have taken place within national park grounds, no matter who or what gets in her way.”

Anna Pigeon marks Spiridakos’ first major project since her May 2024 exit from Chicago P.D. She portrayed Detective Hailey Upton on the NBC drama from 2017 to 2024, joining in a recurring capacity during season 4 before becoming a series regular from seasons 5 to 11.

Amid her departure from Chicago P.D., Spiridakos explained her desire to pursue a new creative direction following her lengthy tenure on the show.

“I love this group of people, everybody from cast and crew, producers, everybody,” she told Deadline in May 2024. “This was a really hard decision to make. I’ve been on the show for seven-and-a-half years. So I was curious about what else was out there and wanted to switch it up. That was kind of it, but it was hard. It was very bittersweet and emotional.”

Spiridakos also noted that she would be open to returning to Chicago P.D. in the future, gushing, “I would love to reappear, that would be amazing.”

As Spiridakos prepares for her new role, Chicago P.D. is gearing up for its 13th season, which will premiere in October and star Jason Beghe (Hank Voight), Marina Squerciati (Kim Burgess), Patrick John Flueger (Adam Ruzek), LaRoyce Hawkins (Kevin Atwater), Benjamin Levy Aguilar (Dante Torres), Amy Morton (Trudy Platt) and Arienne Mandi (Naomi Kerr).
