An Iranian MMA fighter left it all in the cage, both literally and figuratively.
Following a hard-fought three-round middleweight clash on Sunday night at Fury Challenger Series 14, Shahriar Zolfaghari threw up twice on the canvas.
It happened moments before the 33-year-old got his hand raised via split decision over the previously undefeated Sean Kennard in Houston, Texas.
As the fighters waited for the judges’ verdict, Zolfaghari spewed his guts near the UFC Fight Pass logo before walking over to the other side of the cage, where he vomited again.
The canvas had to be cleaned before the final three bouts commenced, which included a lightweight title fight between UFC hopeful Hector Saenz and Kyrgyzstan’s Iler Bakhtiyar Uulu.
Saenz moved to 10-2 with a second-round knockout win to lay claim to the vacant belt.
Earlier in the evening, Bella Mir, the daughter of former UFC heavyweight champion Frank Mir, returned to the cage for the first time in three years to submit Stephanie Calderon in the opening stanza.
The 22-year-old sensation used her extensive wrestling pedigree to get Calderon to the ground early, where she quickly snatched a one-armed kimura while also latching onto her adversary’s neck in a move she called ‘the chicken wing’.
“That’s folkstyle wrestling right there. That’s a chicken wing,” Mir said about her submission.
“I’m just glad I got to show my striking this fight because I just wanted to prove to people I could bang with really tough strikers like Stephanie. I see this as a really big win.”
‘The Lady’ is one of the hottest prospects in women’s MMA right now.
But for now, her attention is focused entirely on her Olympic dream.
Mir’s daughter Bella moved to 4-0 on the same cardInstagram - Bella MirAfter finishing second at 145lbs at the 2025 NCAA Women’s Wrestling Championships, the University of Iowa grappler is setting her sights on a spot at the 2028 Los Angeles Games.
“Wrestling is my priority right now,” Mir said.
“My next event isn’t until Oct. 20-26 in Serbia for U23 Worlds, so I’m going to take advantage of all this time and I’m going to compete in as much MMA and jiu-jitsu as I can and train and spar as much as I can.
“Obviously, I still train wrestling. I’m still doing freestyle because I don’t want to lose that for October, and obviously my goal is for 2028.
“But no, definitely wrestling is for sure my No. 1 [sport] for now because I feel like when I’m older, I’m not going to want to wrestle anymore because wrestling is so hard on your body.”
Once her Olympic dream is fulfilled, Mir is eyeing an MMA fight with Brock Lesnar‘s daughter, Mya, to settle their fathers’ rivalry – nearly two decades after they last locked horns.
