The Chapel Hill Police Department has named a Durham teen as a suspect in an armed carjacking which took place at The Siena Hotel early Saturday morning. Police are charging Shaun Derek Dunn, 16, with the following crimes:
Robbery with a dangerous weapon Two counts of possession of stolen goods/property Felony larceny Felony conspiracy Second degree kidnappingAs of publication Tuesday night, Dunn remains at large.
“We believe Shaun Dunn is armed and dangerous,” said Chapel Hill Police Chief Celisa Lehew. “If you see him, call 911 and do not approach him.”
Though police wouldn’t say if Dunn is also a suspect in an armed robbery which took place late Thursday night in the area of Old Chapel Hill Road, investigators have reportedly linked a stolen vehicle involved in the carjacking to the robbery.
“Our investigators are working to identify other suspects in both cases, and I remain confident that we will continue to make progress,” Lehew said.
