Cross Border Xpress and WILDCOAST are partnering to raise awareness about coastal and marine conservation in the U.S. and Mexico.
As a major travel hub connecting California and Mexico, CBX links travelers to destinations that WILDCOAST works to protect. The partnership supports efforts to promote sustainable tourism and protect the natural areas that define the binational region.
“WILDCOAST was built on the idea that protecting our coast and ocean requires cross-border collaboration,” said Serge Dedina, Ph.D., WILDCOAST co-founder and executive director. “That’s why our partnership with CBX matters. Like WILDCOAST, CBX unites people, places, and opportunities across the border. Together we’re showing that conservation has no boundaries.”
The collaboration includes co-branded signage on the CBX bridge, a social media video campaign, in-kind CBX ticket sponsorship for WILDCOAST’s Baja Bash fundraiser, and a conservation field day for CBX staff.
“Supporting WILDCOAST is a natural fit for us,” said CBX CEO Jorge Goytortua. “It’s about more than just travel—it’s about strengthening our shared region through partnerships that make a real difference.”
WILDCOAST is an international conservation organization working to protect coastal ecosystems and address climate change through natural solutions. The group leads efforts to restore mangrove forests, reduce plastic pollution, conserve coral reefs, and protect sea turtle nesting sites in California and Mexico.
CBX is an international terminal in San Diego connected to Tijuana International Airport by a 390-foot pedestrian bridge. The facility provides an alternative to congested land crossings and offers U.S. passengers access to domestic Mexican flights at reduced rates.
